There are approximately 3 658 000 million older persons in SA (5.9% of SA population), of which 1 829 000 million persons with hearing loss (approximately 50%), of whom:

👉1 646 100 million people make use listening devices or alternate methods of communication as their primary method of communication. (90% or more).

👉182,900 are SA Sign Language users (10% or less).
